Time

Daily

The Body-Energy Clock is built upon the concept of the cyclical ebb and flow of energy throughout the body on a daily basis. The Qi (vital force) reaches a maximum for each organ system during a 2 hour period as displayed above.

“If the organ is treated at the time of the maximum Qi as per the body clock, the treatment will be significantly enhanced. If treated at other times, the patient is advised to not focus attention on the affected organ, but maintain a relaxed mental attitude.”

Seasonal

Spring is the time of awakening from the slumber of winter, the plants sprout new growth and flower, insects hatch, birds and animals breed. Summer is the time of abundance, continued growth and the building of fruits in preparation for the harvest time. Autumn is the time of maturation and the bearing of fruit, where the growth impulse turns toward the hibernation times ahead. The winter is the time of rest, insects slumber in their egg cycle, plants and animals become less active, conserving energy as resources are few.

“The Qi goes through a yearly cycle as well and the body responds accordingly. During the spring, the Qi is uplifting, awakening from the contraction of winter, rising from the centre toward heaven. In the summer the Qi expands outwards from the body. In the autumn this process is reversed to one of falling, downwards toward the earth. In the winter, the Qi contracts toward the centre of the body.”

Life Cycle

Youth is the time of growth and maturation and of learning about the world. Middle age is the time of consolidation, of putting into practice all that has been learned, and a time of carving a “place in the world”. Old age is the time of harvesting the fruits of life’s labour, a time when one no longer has to work and can do all those things one never had the time to do.

“The cycle of life, in turn, is a Qi cycle. In the male, life unfolds in cycles of 8, in woman, cycles of 7. In youth, the body “leads” the mind, in middle age, the body and mind are in balance, and in old age, the mind “leads” the body. To foster good health, we strengthen the weaker partner. In youth, we emphasise the mind through appreciation, awareness, social connection, expression, reflection and moral training. In old age, we emphasise the body, fitness, care and diet.”

Speed and frequency

“Speed is the rate at which someone or something moves through space. Frequency is the rate per second of a vibration constituting a wave, in a material or electromagnetic field.”

Haisong Comments

“A person’s personal Qi has speed and frequency. A fast Qi reacts, desires, repeats and is impatient for “what’s next?”, regulates, moves and transfers. A slow Qi considers in a neutral way, is aware, observes and is patient, pondering the moment to nourish, hold and accumulate the Qi to savor life’s moments. Qi can range between a single pulse and a continuous vibration. In between these extremes, we have impulsivity and continuous action. I can, I wish, I like, I would, I should … a continuum of the frequency of personal Qi”

Complete and incomplete

“Complete: having all the necessary or appropriate parts. Incomplete: not full or finished.”

Haisong Comments

“A personal Qi that is complete, is closed, encased in an energetic shell, not open to “what’s next?” in life. A Qi that is incomplete, is open to new experiences and social interactions, fluid and malleable, eager to embrace life’s “next chapter”.
